Renewable Electricity

Did you know our TNCC jellies are made with renewable electricity?

The Yaloak Wind Farm west of Melbourne, Victoria, provides us with most of our renewable electricity, and the rest from solar panels at our factory in Scoresby2, Victoria.

Renewable electricity is also used to power our nearby Ringwood factory – the home of Cadbury Easter, as well as iconic Crunchie, Picnic and Cherry Ripe products.

Cocoa Life

Cocoa is at the heart of our chocolate. We are proud to be one of the world’s leading chocolate makers, and are determined to continue leading in helping to make cocoa right through our global cocoa sustainability program: Cocoa Life.

Our program focuses on making cocoa sourcing more sustainable in key cocoa-producing countries. Cocoa Life aims to help lift the people and protect the landscapes it reaches and bring dynamic change to the communities and forests where the cocoa bean grows before it becomes the snack chocolate fans love.

Doubling Down on Cocoa Life

In 2022, we celebrated 10 years of Cocoa Life and announced our next ambition to work with nearly 300,000 farmers and increase our total investment to USD $1 billion by 2030.

Our areas of intervention

Sustainable cocoa farming businesses

Working hand-in-hand with cocoa farmers to make cocoa farming a business of choice. We help farmers become more productive, so they can increase their income from cocoa.

Empowered cocoa communities

Empowering the men, women and youth within cocoa communities to lead their own development and improve their livelihoods through entrepreneurship.

Conserved and restored forests

Protecting and restoring the land and forests where cocoa is grown, together with the farmers and communities.

sourcing fresh milk for more than 50 years

Crafted in Mount Gambier, South Australia, Philadelphia cream cheese is an iconic crowd-pleaser.

Close to 120 million litres of fresh milk is sourced from local dairy farms annually, which in turn produces the equivalent of 75 million tubs for cream cheese lovers in Australia, New Zealand and around the world.

Supporting local industry

Dairy is one of Australia’s most important rural industries and is a key sector of the agricultural economy.

We’re proud to partner with local dairy suppliers who source milk from regional Victoria and South Australia providing indirect employment to hundreds of farmers.

BEST CARE FOR COWS

The quality milk that we put into our products begins with healthy, well cared for cows. Animal welfare is critical to the Australian dairy industry and under the industry sustainability framework, goals and targets have been set to help ensure best care for all animals.

Appropriate animal care is essential to the success of every farming business and it’s the right thing to do.

For more than a decade, OREO has been using its platform and global reach to promote inclusivity, boost the voices of LGBTQIA+ communities and make financial contributions to further their missions.
Why? Because it’s part of the OREO brand’s mission to spark moments of connection and bring people together.

To promote these values even further, for the next three years, we’re partnering with Australia’s most iconic and inclusive event: Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

As official snacking partner, we’re supporting Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras’ efforts to celebrate LGBTQIA+ identity, champion expression, challenge injustice, and elevate diverse voices that have traditionally been under-represented.
